• Lead acetate paper ascertains the presence of hydrogen sulfide
• Hydrogen sulphide form while processing raw oil

• Can also be used to determine levels of sulphide in drinking water, well water or groundwater
• Sulphide containing solutions turn the paper from white to brown-black
